Cattle Fence Mesh Material and Structure

Cattle Fence is primarily made from hot-dip galvanized steel wire, creating a strong, durable structure for extended outdoor use. The zinc coating is typically around 60–100 g/m². For regions with higher humidity or more demanding environmental conditions, a coating of approximately 230 g/m² may be used.

Cold-galvanized steel wire may also be used in some African markets and for specific applications. Standard wire is generally 2.5 mm Grade D hard steel wire with a zinc coating, delivering the strength needed for livestock fencing.

The mesh is woven from high-strength steel or alloy wire and installed with steel pipe or wooden posts. Connecting and fixing components secure the mesh to the posts to form a stable enclosure for livestock.

Most Cattle Fence products feature an automatic hinge-joint woven structure, with longitudinal and transverse wires mechanically twisted together. Depending on the application, some configurations combine horizontal steel wires with vertical iron wires.

High-Strength Cattle Fence for Livestock Protection

Cattle Fence is designed to handle the impact and pulling forces created by livestock.

High-strength galvanized steel wires deliver strong tensile performance, while the woven mesh helps distribute impact across the fence. This construction allows the fence to withstand firm contact from cattle, horses, sheep, and other grazing animals.

Compared with lightweight fencing materials, galvanized steel livestock fencing creates a more stable physical barrier for large farms and grassland applications.

Corrosion-Resistant Cattle Fencing

Outdoor fencing must withstand long-term exposure to moisture, rain, temperature changes, and other environmental conditions.

The steel wires and corrugated wire sections of Cattle Fence are galvanized to improve corrosion resistance. Other connecting and fixing components can also be treated to resist rust and corrosion.

Depending on the materials, zinc coating, installation environment, and maintenance conditions, a properly installed Cattle Fence can provide a service life of 20 years or longer in suitable conditions.

A higher zinc coating weight can be selected for humid regions or other demanding environments to provide additional protection.

Flexible, Shock-Absorbing Cattle Fence Mesh

A key feature of woven livestock fencing is its ability to absorb and distribute impact.

Horizontal wires are corrugated or crimped to increase the fence’s elasticity and buffering capacity. When livestock push against the mesh, its woven construction allows some flexibility rather than acting as a completely rigid barrier.

This flexible design also helps accommodate expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. The fence can maintain appropriate tension as outdoor conditions change while reducing the risk of deformation from thermal movement.

Easy-to-Install Livestock Fence

Cattle Fence has a straightforward structure and is supplied in compact rolls, making it easier to transport to grasslands, farms, ranches, and other remote installation sites.

The roll format is convenient to handle, and standardized fence components and connection methods can simplify installation. The mesh is generally fitted between steel or wooden posts using suitable connecting and fixing components.

Because the system does not require complex structural assembly, Cattle Fence can help reduce construction time for large grazing areas and livestock enclosures.

Cattle Fence Mesh Sizes

Choose mesh dimensions according to livestock type, fence height, and application requirements.

Common mesh heights are 89 mm, 102 mm, and 114 mm. Common mesh widths include:

150 mm/200 mm/250 mm/300 mm

Mesh configurations can be selected to suit the size and behavior of the animals being contained. Smaller openings provide closer spacing, while larger openings may be appropriate for suitable livestock and grazing environments.

Cattle Fence Height and Roll Length

Depending on the application, Cattle Fence is generally supplied at heights of no more than 2.0 m.

Common fence heights include: 1.2 m/1.8 m

Common roll lengths include: 50 m/100 m

A choice of heights and roll lengths allows the fencing system to suit both small farm enclosures and large grassland or ranch boundaries.

Cattle Fence Applications

  • 6

    Cattle Fence for Livestock Separation

One of the primary uses of Cattle Fence is separating and managing livestock.
On large farms and grasslands, animals may need to be grouped by species, breed, age, growth stage, or management needs. Cattle Fence can divide grazing land into separate sections to support more organized livestock management.
Creating separate enclosures helps limit unnecessary interaction between animal groups and provides more controlled grazing areas.

Cattle Fencing to Help Prevent Livestock Escape

When properly installed, Cattle Fence forms a continuous physical barrier around grazing areas and livestock farms.
Its high-strength steel wire construction and suitable mesh configuration can help keep cattle, horses, sheep, and other livestock within designated grazing areas. This is especially important on large grasslands, where uncontrolled movement may lead to animals becoming lost or entering roads or neighboring properties.
Keeping livestock within designated areas can improve farm management and help reduce potential economic losses caused by escaped animals.

    Cattle Fence for Grassland Management

Cattle Fence also has an important role in managing grassland.
Dividing a large grazing area into sections allows farmers to implement rotational grazing and control where livestock feed. This can prevent animals from grazing the same area continuously and help reduce the risk of overgrazing.
With a suitable fence layout, different grassland sections can be used and rested at different times. This offers a practical way to manage grazing intensity and support sustainable use of grassland resources.

Cattle Fence for Farms and Ranches

Cattle Fence suits a range of livestock farming environments, including cattle ranches, sheep farms, horse farms, grassland ranches, and large outdoor grazing areas.
Its galvanized steel wire, woven construction, flexible structure, and corrosion-resistant surface treatment make it suitable for long-term outdoor livestock management.
Fence height, mesh opening, wire diameter, zinc coating, roll length, and post configuration can be selected to match the farm layout and livestock requirements.

    Other Cattle Fence Applications

While primarily designed for livestock management, Cattle Fence can also serve a variety of agricultural, forestry, and outdoor purposes.
It can function as a farmland boundary fence, a protective enclosure for forest nurseries, or a barrier around forest conservation and reforestation areas.
Cattle Fence can also be used for enclosure and boundary management in tourist areas and hunting grounds, and for temporary or long-term isolation and maintenance around construction sites.
Its simple structure and adaptable installation make it suitable for different outdoor boundary and separation needs.
